Aion kinda has a similar idea of being able to see other players Equipment. This option can be turned off.
Obviously with GW builds are limited compared to Aion so the skills are more important.
I really like the idea of having it and if people are so QQ about not wanting to show their builds then they can turn it off.
For speedclears reordering can be a pain you can lose people etc.
Seeing weapons and armor could be nice to check someone isn't running un runed. I mean at the end of the day it's not going to be implemented. I would love it to on the basis I'm one of those people that doesn't like not having the proper armor runes and the correct weapons. I expect other people to run decent armor and weapons. BUT I like the idea.
I cant say much for Pvp. I don't do it
I guess for normal PvE it would allow a team leader to see hero builds and peoples builds. Especially with friends and helping them out. Seeing what build they are running you can give advice etc.
If you care so much about your build being stolen, don't play with other people. If you want to try it out tell people. It's not like from the build they are going to know exactly how you run it

What if this only worked/showed for the party leader?
If he/she sees a build that they don't like or doesn't work with the team, request adjustments to the appropriate player(s), or just kick.
I liked the idea a lot except, I don't like the part where they can see your equipment.

In PvE you can just change your equipment as soon as you enter whatever mission you're doing. Less so in PvP but equipment matters a lot more there so if you're sharing skills it makes sense to share equipment too.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who keeps builds to myself. The builds I don't share range from simple variants of well-known builds to updated versions of older builds that fell out of use. No doubt other people use builds very similar to mine, or even identical. "Copyright" is not the problem at stake here. I'm sure there's things you care about that I don't care about, such as why other people could possibly have opinions different from yours.
If anything, it's because I'll never see them again is why I don't want to share builds with them. I'm more likely to share a build with a friend than I am a complete and utter stranger.
I've been playing for longer than this Guru account implies, I think being overprotective of "truly awful" builds is the least of my worries.

idea isnt bad, for party to see what builds there are
but... its bad with the current GW community (in general) with their elitism
i'd never use a pug or such with someone telling me what build to use (and i mean each skill -_-)
so no thanks, elitism already killed the multiplayer mostly, giving this means pugs kicking alot of those who dont listen to their boss (sry, i see it that way)
small note: this is from my point of view, as all i got left are a very few friends who can help, if they ever got the time (not blaming them, but i cant find other people who can help without telling me what to use)

I'm not saying you don't hold that opinion, nor am I saying you shouldn't. I'm asking why?

Love the idea - and beautifully designed too, great work. Would be better to be able to toggle sharing builds and armor to give people choice.
I only ever really play with friends and my sons, and use heroes. This would be perfect for setting up parties, and discussing and planning builds between us. Often have to check the boys have their builds right - my nine year old runs rings round us old guys in actual play but often forgets a skill or two ;-). My friend and I often chew the fat over builds and trying new things out so this would save a lot of pinging backand forth.
